Mergent Group – Refer a Mate Program

Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice

 

1. Overview

The Mergent Group Refer a Mate Program (“Program”) allows individuals to refer potential candidates to Mergent Group for employment opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.

Participants may be eligible to receive a referral reward where a referred candidate is successfully placed, subject to the conditions outlined below.

By participating in this Program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Notice.

 

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Program is open to individuals aged 18 years or over.
2.2 There is no limit to the number of referrals that may be submitted.
2.3 Existing candidates in the Mergent Group database are eligible to participate in the Program.
2.4 Employees of Mergent Group are also eligible to participate.
2.5 Mergent Group reserves the right to determine eligibility at its sole discretion.

 

3. Valid Referrals

A referral will be considered valid where:

  • The referral is submitted via the official Mergent Group referral form or approved method;

  • Accurate and complete contact details are provided;

  • The referrer has obtained consent from the referred individual to share their personal information and for Mergent Group to contact them.

Where multiple referrals are received for the same individual, the first valid referral received will be recognised.

 

4. Reward Structure

4.1 Referral rewards are variable and uncapped, and multiple rewards may be earned for multiple successful referrals.

4.2 Reward amounts are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account factors including (but not limited to):

Type of role

Project or assignment duration

Employment arrangement (temporary, contract, or permanent)

Pay rates associated with the role

4.3 Examples of reward structures may include:

Short-term roles (e.g. shutdowns) – approximately $100 upon completion

Longer-term placements – staged payments (e.g. $500 after 1 month and $500 after 6 months)

These examples are indicative only and do not guarantee specific amounts.

 

5. Reward Eligibility and Payment

5.1 A referral reward will only be payable where the referred candidate:

Is successfully placed in a role through Mergent Group; and

Meets the required qualifying period for that role.

5.2 Rewards may be paid:

Upon completion of the assignment; or

After a minimum of one (1) month of successful placement; or

In staged payments for longer-term placements (e.g. additional payment after six (6) months), where applicable.

5.3 Payment timing and structure will be determined by Mergent Group based on the specific placement.

5.4 All rewards will be paid via bank transfer.

5.5 Mergent Group reserves the right to withhold or decline payment where:

The referred candidate does not complete the required period;

The placement is terminated early;

Information provided is inaccurate or misleading;

The referral does not meet the Program criteria.

 

6. Program Conditions

6.1 Referrals must be genuine and submitted in good faith.
6.2 Mergent Group reserves the right to verify all referrals and eligibility.
6.3 This Program may be modified, suspended, or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
6.4 Mergent Group’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Program is final.

 

Privacy Notice

 

7. Collection of Personal Information

Mergent Group collects personal information from both the referrer and the referred individual, including (but not limited to):

  • Names

  • Contact details (phone, email)

  • Employment-related information

This information is collected for the purpose of:

  • Recruitment and employment placement services

  • Contacting individuals regarding job opportunities

  • Administering the Refer a Mate Program

 

8. Referral Consent

By submitting a referral, the referrer confirms that:

  • They have obtained the referred individual’s consent to share their personal information;

  • The referred individual has agreed to be contacted by Mergent Group.

 

9. Use of Personal Information

Personal information may be used to:

  • Contact individuals via phone, email, and/or SMS;

  • Add individuals to Mergent Group’s recruitment database and systems;

  • Assess suitability for employment opportunities;

  • Match candidates with job placements;

  • Administer referral rewards and payments.

 

10. Disclosure

Personal information may be disclosed to:

  • Prospective employers or clients for recruitment purposes;

  • Third-party service providers used by Mergent Group (including recruitment software platforms and payment processing services).

 

11. Storage and Security

Personal information is stored securely within Mergent Group’s systems and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles and relevant New Zealand privacy requirements.

 

12. Access and Correction

Individuals may request access to, or correction of, their personal information by contacting Mergent Group.

 

13. Opt-Out and Withdrawal

Individuals may:

  • Request removal from Mergent Group’s database;

  • Opt out of communications at any time.
