Michael Walters is the founder and driving force behind Mergent Group, a specialist recruitment agency built on trust, industry insight and client partnership. Michael launched Mergent in 2022, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, using his own experience and resources to answer a growing need for professional recruitment expertise in the mining, resources and broader technical sectors across Australia.
With deep experience in the mining and resources market and a passion for regional workforce development, Michael established Mergent at a time of widespread uncertainty. Under his leadership, the company quickly gained momentum, balancing surging client demand with the operational challenges of a young business. Today, Mergent has been recognised on the Fast Starters list in the professional services category, achieving rapid growth and demonstrating sustainable performance.
